It is a kind of personal crusade to also avoid those unbearable emails with a copy of a copy of a copy where it is impossible to find out who said what and when. This also applies to legal signatures and/or environmentally friendly policies. And to those who include with every mail a picture with an institutional signature and sometimes even their own portrait. Hasn’t anybody tell them that in 2011 is very likely that most of the recipients read their messages on a mobile phone in which is very uncomfortable to get an attachment with each email? Why if in a conversation face to face we don’t dedicate more time to introduce ourselves than to the rest of the content of that conversation, we do not do the same when we send an email?. As a deaf said when reading the lips of a person who spoke to him very slowly and screaming: “I am deaf, not stupid.” Communication is communication no matter the media, and of course, each media has its quirks but there are some basics that should always be applied.
Anyhow, back to the subject of this post, the other day I found someone who has been faster than me and has raised the funds (it’s been a few times now) to make a business out of this signature thing or an alternative to those business cards that I loose more often every time. First was Cardcloud, a simple mobile application that offers a “business card” in the cloud to share it, of course, with whoever you want, whenever and however you want (well, almost). And then I found About.me. A service that offers everybody a small window in the net to introduce yourself as you like. Besides a more appropriate name, I think is also better designed (they just need to get into mobiles without an internet connection now). Because this is what the network is all about. About exchanging information. About communication. About us. About you. About.me

Y después he encontrado About.me.

Since 4 or 5 years ago what appears on the signature of my emails or on the last business cards I had is something like this: “more contact details at: lorenzobennassar.com/contact.” In fact, it’s been a while that I insist in trying, with those companies that I collaborate with, to avoid those endless email signatures […]

[2

post-466","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-brandcommunication
["GET
