Lilium safety workshop.
What does it take for us human beings to feel safe?
Safety has always been a crucial subject at Lilium. It's something we knew from the beginning we would never negotiate with. In April 2020, while the world was in the midst of the greatest pandemic in over 100 years, and we were all confined in our homes, I led a workshop inside the marketing department regarding the concept of safety.
Aerospace is all about engineering and the laws of physics. It is probably one of the sectors with the most strict safety regulations. Lilium's amazing team of engineers will make sure the Lilium jet will comply with all official aerospace safety regulations, otherwise, it will not be certified by the official authorities like the FAA or EASA. And it has to be that way. Lo and behold, aviation has one of the lowest accident track records among all the means of transportation.
And yet, so many people are still afraid of flying.
There is something else at play when it comes to feeling safe. The following keynote explores many of the things that can be done from the brand communication perspective to help Lilium's customers feel safer.
